Before we even enrolled into the centre, Mr Allan offered to review my daughter’s paper and wrote down learning points for her to review. Lessons with Mr Allan were interesting. We were introduced to Tinkerlab through a friend’s recommendation, and Wee-Ann began her classes in February 2023. In addition to her regular sessions, she participated in a two-week workshop in June and a booster class in September. We enrolled Wee-Ann in science tuition after she achieved an AL4 in P5. Following her time at Thinkerlab, she improved to an AL2 in Prelim & PSLE.
Wee-Ann thoroughly enjoys the lessons at Tinkerlab, finding them interesting, engaging, and enjoyable. Mr. Allan consistently addresses her questions, patiently explaining concepts she’s unsure about.
One aspect we appreciate is the flexibility of the lessons – if a class is missed, there are alternative sessions available for makeup.
Overall, I find Tinkerlab provides an environment where children can develop both confidence and a keen interest in science.

Madam Tan is patient, kind & understanding towards the student’s needs. Whenever a student needs help, she will try her best to explain in order for the student to understand the lesson’s contents. Even though some of the lessons can be very strenuous, I feel that these lessons really help me in understanding the concepts of the primary 4 & 5 school syllabus. Mdm Tan has also taught me in a very fun way and sometimes, she would bring a real-life model of an experiment for us to learn more! 🙂

The lessons helped me thoroughly understand many of the primary school syllabus science concepts, which has aided me in my secondary school studies. Mdm Tan and Mr Allan tend to teach in legitimately fun and interesting ways that really get the concepts into your head. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my 4 years of primary school science tuition here.

The study notes and practice worksheets provided during lessons were sufficient to help my son revise for his exams. My son enjoys attending lessons at Tinkerlab and is able to understand the Science concepts taught and apply the concepts to answer the different question types.

We went to Tinkerlab because Jade was struggling with her open ended questions and overall science results. Mr Allan and Mdm Tan have been absolutely wonderful. Jade takes classes with Mr Allan and his lesson was always engaging yet effective. Whenever we have any questions on science, we would be able to clarify our doubts with the teacher. The teacher would not give us short answers to our questions, but instead give us a detailed explanation and would make sure we understood the problem. The teachers there are very nice and patient with students who are struggling with their science. they also teach very good answering techniques on science open ended, which helped me a lot during my science examinations. They go through every single mistake that the students make and make sure that we do not have any doubts after we leave the classroom. The teachers there are very hardworking and cool.

Tinkerlab was being highly recommended to me by a friend. Science is never an easy subject due to answers have to be answered “scientifically” and not the English comprehension way. Being in Tinkerlab for 2 years, it has been proven that Tinkerlab has not disappointed me at all with Zach scoring A*s consistently for his P3 SA2, P4 SA1 and SA2! Science is a challenging subject. However, Mr Allan is able to make the lessons fun and alive with his experiments and humorous explanation such that learning is internalised. Mdm Tan prepared her own materials and exposed the students to so many different practice questions and helped them tackle the usual pitfalls, using whichever answering techniques they were taught in by their own school. Mdm Tan would also tell jokes in class so it was never boring. My daughter’s ability to answer open-ended questions improved a lot and she did very well in her Science PSLE under Mdm Tan’s guidance.

Mdm Tan and Mr Allan are both very experienced teachers. Both are equally dedicated and my first 2 children got an ‘A*’ and high ‘A’ for their PSLE Science. The important thing is that both my children enjoyed going to their classes very much as they had made Science so interesting and fun for them. There was no one lesson they dragged to attend. Mr Allan is a fun teacher who makes jokes almost every lesson but makes sure we stay focus on our work despite his impossible-not-to-laugh jokes.
