My 3 sons were with Tinkerlab and have all scored As in Science for their PSLE.
Thanks to Mr Allan and Mdm Tan’s engaging and effective teaching methods.
I have seen the 3 of them struggled with the subject and especially with higher primary science syllabus (esp section B of the paper!)
But the lessons were clear and so engaging that they not only improved but looked forward to the classes.

Mdm Tan and Mr Allan are both very experienced teachers. Both are equally dedicated and my first 2 children got an ‘A*’ and high ‘A’ for their PSLE Science. The important thing is that both my children enjoyed going to their classes very much as they had made Science so interesting and fun for them. There was no one lesson they dragged to attend. I use to think that tuitions are boring lessons where we just do worksheets non-stop but since I joined Tinkerlab, I have seen that lessons can be fun but also effective at the same time!

It is very obvious that my girl is much more confident about the subject just a month into the lessons. She is eager to learn and discuss the questions. She loves how the teacher makes the lessons interesting and at the same time, the teacher is firm and strict.

The study notes and practice worksheets provided during lessons were sufficient to help my son revise for his exams. My son enjoys attending lessons at Tinkerlab and is able to understand the Science concepts taught and apply the concepts to answer the different question types.

We went to Tinkerlab because Jade was struggling with her open ended questions and overall science results. Mr Allan and Mdm Tan have been absolutely wonderful. Jade takes classes with Mr Allan and his lesson was always engaging yet effective. They allow the kids to have hands on experiments which further enhance the concepts and nurture a love for the subject. Outside of lesson, when I need help while revising with Jade, Mr Allan was always there to help and coach me as a parent on helping her with her revision. Notes provided are comprehensive and very exam focus, and easy for revision. He is committed to helping her improve. Jade joined tinker lab when she was pri4 with a al 4 grade and left Tinkerlab with a PSLE grade of AL1 – confident and loving the subject.

Before we even enrolled into the centre, Mr Allan offered to review my daughter’s paper and wrote down learning points for her to review. Lessons with Mr Allan were interesting. The experiments made lessons even more fun and interactive for the kids, and this is what differentiates Tinkerlab from the regular tuition centre.

Whenever we have any questions on science, we would be able to clarify our doubts with the teacher. The teacher would not give us short answers to our questions, but instead give us a detailed explanation and would make sure we understood the problem. The teachers there are very nice and patient with students who are struggling with their science. they also teach very good answering techniques on science open ended, which helped me a lot during my science examinations. They go through every single mistake that the students make and make sure that we do not have any doubts after we leave the classroom. The teachers there are very hardworking and cool.

Doing well in science is not about knowing the concepts, but also about answering correctly to demonstrate understanding. Tinker Lab provides very good coaching and now my daughter can formulate correct answers.

I am glad to have enrolled both my girls at Tinklelab. Their grades have improved after attending Tinkerlab class. The lesson is conducted in a fun and enjoyable way and you can hear the children’s laughter during class. I think children learn best when they enjoy the lesson.

The lessons here are very engaging. I look forward to the lessons every week and would like to thank the effort put into every lesson by the teachers. Every lesson is full of fun and laughter which was one of the things that motivated me to carry on.

We have been recommended by a ex-MOE teacher to this school and had been with them for a year for my PSLE child in 2020. The lessons with the school were great. Mdm Tan is very patient and caring teacher with full of knowledge. She conducts experiment with the kids to arouse their interest. Her lessons is very interactive. Whenever we have any doubts on any topic, she will response to our queries even late at night. Very diligent and dedicated teacher. Now my younger child is with her, starting her P4 science.

Prior to attending Mr Allan’s lessons, my girl didn’t like science and was not doing well. Our priority was to get her interested in the subject. Jazreel has attended Teacher Allan Sci class since she is in Pri 3. We have noticed a big change of her interest in Science. She has started to enjoy attending and learning Science as Tr Allan has been very engaging,fun and creative in his teaching. Teacher Allan is a responsible and caring teacher who encouraged student to ask questions and would not hesitate to answer any questions patiently and with clarity.

We were introduced to Tinkerlab through a friend’s recommendation, and Wee-Ann began her classes in February 2023. In addition to her regular sessions, she participated in a two-week workshop in June and a booster class in September. We enrolled Wee-Ann in science tuition after she achieved an AL4 in P5. Following her time at Thinkerlab, she improved to an AL2 in Prelim & PSLE.
Wee-Ann thoroughly enjoys the lessons at Tinkerlab, finding them interesting, engaging, and enjoyable. Mr. Allan consistently addresses her questions, patiently explaining concepts she’s unsure about.

I enrolled my boy into tinker lab only during circuit breaker when I realised he is not able to cope alone and PSLE is approaching. My child said Mr Allan is her favourite science teacher. She managed to improve from AL5 in P5 to AL2 in PSLE. The centre provides very structured worksheets and notes which are very helpful for both parents and student. Mr Allan is a fun teacher who makes jokes almost every lesson but makes sure we stay focus on our work despite his impossible-not-to-laugh jokes. Mdm Tan prepared her own materials and exposed the students to so many different practice questions and helped them tackle the usual pitfalls, using whichever answering techniques they were taught in by their own school. Mdm Tan would also tell jokes in class so it was never boring. My daughter’s ability to answer open-ended questions improved a lot and she did very well in her Science PSLE under Mdm Tan’s guidance.

Tinkerlab was being highly recommended to me by a friend. Science is never an easy subject due to answers have to be answered “scientifically” and not the English comprehension way. Being in Tinkerlab for 2 years, it has been proven that Tinkerlab has not disappointed me at all with Zach scoring A*s consistently for his P3 SA2, P4 SA1 and SA2! My son enjoys Mr Allan’s classes very much as he’s very humorous. He can understand science concepts better through experiments and detailed explanations.

Madam Tan is patient, kind & understanding towards the student’s needs. Whenever a student needs help, she will try her best to explain in order for the student to understand the lesson’s contents. Madam Tan is also willing to help with questions beyond class time ie responding to messages after class. She also goes above & beyond in providing mentorship regarding school placement. She has helped my kid not only improve greatly in science, but also grasp a better understanding of concepts. Overall, kudos to Madam Tan.
