Doing well in science is not about knowing the concepts, but also about answering correctly to demonstrate understanding. Tinker Lab provides very good coaching and now my daughter can formulate correct answers.

Leroy’s science result has been stagnant at AL5. At the end of his P5 term 3, we enrolled him with Tinkerlab. In just 1 term, we seen an improvement in his result to AL4!

Tinkerlab was being highly recommended to me by a friend. Science is never an easy subject due to answers have to be answered “scientifically” and not the English comprehension way. Being in Tinkerlab for 2 years, it has been proven that Tinkerlab has not disappointed me at all with Zach scoring A*s consistently for his P3 SA2, P4 SA1 and SA2! He understands how to answer the questions the science way and has definitely proven that this choice was mine was never wrong! Before we even enrolled into the centre, Mr Allan offered to review my daughter’s paper and wrote down learning points for her to review. Lessons with Mr Allan were interesting. The experiments made lessons even more fun and interactive for the kids, and this is what differentiates Tinkerlab from the regular tuition centre.

I enrolled my boy into tinker lab only during circuit breaker when I realised he is not able to cope alone and PSLE is approaching. Though a short time, with the help of Mdm tan, his answering technique has improved greatly! Thank you to Mdm Tan for willing to accept him into the class despite the short runway to PSLE

We went to Tinkerlab because Jade was struggling with her open ended questions and overall science results. Mr Allan and Mdm Tan have been absolutely wonderful. Jade takes classes with Mr Allan and his lesson was always engaging yet effective. They allow the kids to have hands on experiments which further enhance the concepts and nurture a love for the subject. Outside of lesson, when I need help while revising with Jade, Mr Allan was always there to help and coach me as a parent on helping her with her revision. Notes provided are comprehensive and very exam focus, and easy for revision. He is committed to helping her improve. Jade joined tinker lab when she was pri4 with a al 4 grade and left Tinkerlab with a PSLE grade of AL1 – confident and loving the subject.

Mdm Tan and Mr Allan are both very experienced teachers. Both are equally dedicated and my first 2 children got an ‘A*’ and high ‘A’ for their PSLE Science. The important thing is that both my children enjoyed going to their classes very much as they had made Science so interesting and fun for them. There was no one lesson they dragged to attend. We have been recommended by a ex-MOE teacher to this school and had been with them for a year for my PSLE child in 2020. The lessons with the school were great. Prior to attending Mr Allan’s lessons, my girl didn’t like science and was not doing well. Our priority was to get her interested in the subject. Leonard has been with Tinkerlab from P3 to P6. Unlike his other subjects, I have never thought of switching him to another tuition centre for his Science subject as I felt very assured as a parent when I see that my child is learning well and enjoys attending lessons at the centre.

My child said Mr Allan is her favourite science teacher. She managed to improve from AL5 in P5 to AL2 in PSLE. The centre provides very structured worksheets and notes which are very helpful for both parents and student. Mr Allan was also very willing to answer or clarify parents’ questions during the time before exams to help them prepare their child for exams.

Even though some of the lessons can be very strenuous, I feel that these lessons really help me in understanding the concepts of the primary 4 & 5 school syllabus. Mdm Tan has also taught me in a very fun way and sometimes, she would bring a real-life model of an experiment for us to learn more! 🙂

Jazreel has attended Teacher Allan Sci class since she is in Pri 3. We have noticed a big change of her interest in Science. Tinkerlab reignited my interest in Science and Math and helped me improve from AL4/5 to AL1/2 within 3 months. Mr Allan’s and Mdm Tan’s lessons are super engaging and constantly filled with laughter. We were introduced to Tinkerlab through a friend’s recommendation, and Wee-Ann began her classes in February 2023. In addition to her regular sessions, she participated in a two-week workshop in June and a booster class in September. We enrolled Wee-Ann in science tuition after she achieved an AL4 in P5. Following her time at Thinkerlab, she improved to an AL2 in Prelim & PSLE.
Wee-Ann thoroughly enjoys the lessons at Tinkerlab, finding them interesting, engaging, and enjoyable. Mr. Allan consistently addresses her questions, patiently explaining concepts she’s unsure about.
One aspect we appreciate is the flexibility of the lessons – if a class is missed, there are alternative sessions available for makeup.

Mr Allan is a fun teacher who makes jokes almost every lesson but makes sure we stay focus on our work despite his impossible-not-to-laugh jokes. During lesson time, Mr Allan also has science related toys based on the topic and allows us to play and learn how the toys work. Whenever we have any questions on science, we would be able to clarify our doubts with the teacher. The teacher would not give us short answers to our questions, but instead give us a detailed explanation and would make sure we understood the problem. The teachers there are very nice and patient with students who are struggling with their science. they also teach very good answering techniques on science open ended, which helped me a lot during my science examinations. They go through every single mistake that the students make and make sure that we do not have any doubts after we leave the classroom. The teachers there are very hardworking and cool.
